Eight people were on a ball of fire at a Forrest County festival when the rollercoaster suddenly stopped.
During a Wisconsin festival on Sunday, a distressing incident occurred as eight individuals found themselves trapped upside down on a carnival ride.
The incident unfolded at the Forest County Festival in Crandon, located around 230 miles north of Milwaukee.
The riders aboard the Fire Ball ride endured a lengthy ordeal of being suspended for a minimum of three hours, while first responders labored diligently to bring them down safely.
Capt. Brennan Cook of the Crandon Fire Department told WJFW-TV, “All we know is that the ride had a mechanical failure that caused it to come to an upright position. The state of Wisconsin recently conducted an on-site inspection of the ride, but right now, we don’t have any additional information.”
Fox News Digital reached out to festival organizers and officials to get more details on the incident.
A festival attendee shared a picture on Facebook of the riders suspended upside down, revealing they had been in that position for around four hours.
According to those present, a young woman among those trapped pleaded with the fire officials to rescue an elderly gentleman because of his apparent struggle in the situation.
Local reports said seven of the eight riders were children and everyone involved was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
