Vice President Kamala Harris Rallies Top Democratic Donors Amidst Campaign Concerns

Harris reaffirmed the consistent assertion from the White House that Biden fully intends to run and believes himself to be the best opponent for Trump

In solidarity and confidence, Vice President Kamala Harris addressed approximately 300 major Democratic Party donors yesterday, offering strong support for President Biden’s re-election campaign amidst recent media turmoil.

Speaking via video call, Harris sought to reassure the donors, asserting no cause for concern regarding Biden’s campaign. “I will start by sharing something with all of you, something I believe in my heart of hearts. It is something I feel strongly you should all hear and should take with you when you leave, and tell your friends too,” Harris declared. “We are going to win this election. We are going to win.”

Harris emphasized President Biden’s commitment to prioritizing the American people, contrasting him favorably with former President Donald Trump. “We know which candidate in this election puts the American people first: our President, Joe Biden,” she stated.

During the five-minute address, Harris lauded the achievements of the Biden administration and criticized Trump’s recent rhetoric at the Republican National Convention. “Let me be clear: Trump’s convention this week was one big attempt to distract people,” Harris reportedly told the donors. “He wants to distract attention away from his record and his Project 2025 plan. Can you believe they put it in writing? It is further empirical evidence that the stakes of this election couldn’t be higher.”

The primary purpose of the call was to ease any fears among the donors regarding internal backlash against Biden, which could potentially harm his campaign. Despite the assurance, Harris did not take any questions from the donors after her speech, leading some to question the effectiveness of the communication.

Adding to the tension, the call coincided with nearly a dozen Democratic lawmakers expressing their preference for Biden to withdraw from the race. Nonetheless, Biden has consistently affirmed his intent to run for re-election against Trump in November.

“The president’s in this race,” Campaign Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon reiterated on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday morning. “You’ve heard him say that time and time again.”

While critics within the Democratic Party have treated Biden’s re-election bid as uncertain, the White House remains steadfast in its commitment to his candidacy. Harris’s message to the donors was clear: the administration is united and determined to secure victory in the upcoming election.
