Trump campaign reports over $37.5 million in its coffers with the Iowa caucuses just three and a half months away

Over the past three months, Trump has fund raised over $45 million

Former President Donald Trump appears to be solidifying his dominant position as the front-runner in the 2024 GOP presidential nomination race, thanks to another substantial quarter of fundraising.

Trump’s presidential campaign revealed Wednesday evening that they raised an impressive $45.5 million in fundraising in the third quarter of 2023, spanning July through September.

Additionally, the former president’s political team reported a campaign war chest of more than $37.5 million as of the end of last month.

Trump’s fundraising has grown over the past three months from the roughly $35 million he raised in the second quarter of fundraising, nearly doubling his earnings from the first quarter of the year.

“The Q3 numbers are even more impressive considering fundraising support typically declines for most campaigns during the summer months. President Trump and his campaign completely defied that trend,” the campaign proudly announced in an emailed release.

With just over three and a half months to go before the Iowa caucuses begin the 2024 GOP presidential nominating process, recent national polls and critical early state polls have given Trump significant leads over many of his rivals.

Despite making history as the first former or current president in U.S. history to face multiple criminal charges, Trump’s lead continued to expand throughout the spring and summer. The indictments include charges filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. and in Fulton County Court in Georgia, all related to his efforts to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Unsurprisingly, these legal challenges only increased his support among Republican voters in terms of polling and fundraising.

Earlier Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign reported raising $15 million in fundraising over the past three months. However, DeSantis’ figures fall short of the $20 million he raised in the second quarter of fundraising.

In response, Trump’s campaign criticized DeSantis, calling his fundraising decline “exponential.”

Fundraising combined with polling is an important measure of a candidate’s strength and appeal among grassroots supporters. These funds can be used to strengthen a candidate’s campaign infrastructure, support grassroots outreach and voter mobilization efforts, as well as cover expenses related to travel and advertising.
