President Biden plans to ask his former running mate, Barack Obama, and former House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, to help him explain how he’s made healthcare more affordable and why he should be re-elected.
Obama and Pelosi will join Biden for a virtual rally with activists on Saturday to mark the 14th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, according to Politico. The rally aims to highlight what Biden’s advisors believe is one of his most compelling reasons for seeking re-election.
“The Affordable Care Act is incredibly meaningful for both of them,” said Jen O’Malley Dillon, chair of Biden’s reelection campaign, to Politico. “It truly exemplifies the impact of having leaders who fight for you and achieve what many believed to be impossible.”
According to Politico, the anniversary event for Obamacare will feature a digital ad blitz in key swing states where Biden plans to focus his campaign efforts, such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The Biden campaign has not yet responded to a request for comment.

In his State of the Union address, Biden proudly highlighted the reduction in healthcare costs. He also took a jab at his expected rival in the 2024 election, former President Donald Trump, for his unsuccessful attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act during his time in office.
“In his address to a joint session of Congress, Biden emphasized the significance of Obamacare, also known as the Affordable Care Act. He pointed out that over one hundred million people are now protected from being denied health insurance due to pre-existing conditions.
He also criticized his predecessor and others in the chamber for their efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, stating, ‘But my predecessor and many in this chamber want to take that protection away by repealing the Affordable Care Act. I won’t let that happen!'”
The president highlighted his signing of laws that capped prescription drug costs for seniors on Medicare and introduced tax credits to lower healthcare premiums.
His appearance with Obama on Saturday coincides with his upcoming reunion with former President Bill Clinton for a lavish fundraiser in New York City hosted by Stephen Colbert.
The fundraiser is set for March 28 in New York City, with tickets starting at approximately $250, as reported by NBC News. Attendees can opt for photos with all three presidents for $100,000. Those who donate $250,000 or $500,000 will have the opportunity to attend separate functions with the Democratic trio.
Stephen Colbert, a staunch supporter of the Democratic Party and host of “The Late Show” since 2015, is expected to moderate a conversation with all three presidents. More than 3,000 people are anticipated to attend, potentially raising over $10 million for the Biden campaign.
