Jets ‘staying in touch’ with Odell Beckham in NFL free agency

The Jets appear to be keeping tabs on a certain wide receiver on Aaron Rodgers’ “wish list.”

The organization is “interested and staying in touch” with Odell Beckham Jr.’s camp, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported Friday, as the receiver looks to find a new home in NFL free agency.

Beckham, 30, missed all of the 2022 season as he worked his way back from a torn ACL sustained in Super Bowl 2022 when he played for the Rams.

The former first-round pick, who began his NFL career with the Giants in 2014, held a private workout last week in Arizona, where he showcased his skills in front of “12-to-14 teams,” including the Jets.

Russini reported Thursday how “several teams continue to show interest” in Beckham and are “in touch” with his reps.

The Jets have already made a splash in free agency with the addition of former Packers receiver Allen Lazard, signing the wideout to a four-year, $44 million deal on Tuesday.

Much like Beckham, the 27-year-old Lazard was also named on Rodgers’ “wish list,” a group of players that Rodgers reportedly – also by Russini – suggested to the Jets that the team sign.

Rodgers denied that he ever gave a list of “demands” to the Jets on Wednesday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.”

The longtime Packers quarterback did, however, confirm on the show that he intends to play for the Jets in 2023.

“Since Friday I made it clear that my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets,” Rodgers said.

The four-time MVP remains a member of the Packers as of Friday, however, as Green Bay and the Jets have yet to work out a trade.

Rodgers said Wednesday he hasn’t “been holding anything up at this point,” and “it’s been compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me, kind of digging their heels in.”

The Post’s Brian Costello reported Thursday how “the two sides are negotiating, but there appears to be a gulf in what they believe Rodgers should be traded for.”

Earlier in the day Thursday, Pro Football Talk reported the Packers are seeking a first-round pick and more, especially if Rodgers, 39, plays in 2024.
