It’s unclear when or why ‘Underworld’ star Kate Beckinsale was hospitalized
Kate Beckinsale shared a heartfelt message on U.K. Mother’s Day, expressing gratitude to her mom and loved ones. While praising her mom, Beckinsale also acknowledged the support she received during a recent hospitalization, although she didn’t provide specific details about it.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been there for us during tough times, helping to make the rough patches a little smoother,” the actress wrote on Instagram. “And a special shoutout to those who’ve cared for our furry friends when we couldn’t and reminded us of happier moments when we needed it most.”

“And for being there when we’re unwell, sitting by our side… Sending balloons, checking in, and rescuing us with love when we’re feeling low,” Beckinsale continued. “Thank you to those who love us, and to the incredibly kind Nick, and especially to my mom whose boundless joy is truly inspiring and beautiful.”

In the photos posted by Beckinsale, the “Underworld” actress can be seen wearing a hospital gown, with a black bow adorning her hair. One close-up shot captures tears in Beckinsale’s eyes as she rests in a hospital bed.
The Instagram post also includes pictures of Beckinsale’s mother and her dogs, as well as several videos.
Beckinsale’s Golden Globes night was cut short recently due to her stepfather’s hospitalization. Tragically, Roy Battersby passed away after suffering a stroke. At the time of his death, he had been battling two types of cancer.
The actress shared photos of herself still wearing her silver Golden Globes gown while by her stepfather’s side on January 9th. Battersby passed away on January 10th, as confirmed by Beckinsale. His funeral took place in London. Battersby was renowned for his work on television shows such as “Inspector Morse,” “A Touch of Frost,” and “Between the Lines.”
Beckinsale shared a series of photos documenting her journey from the Golden Globes to the hospital. She captioned the post, “Golden Globes 2024 start to end @goldenglobes @cbstv.”

Tragically, Beckinsale’s father, Richard Beckinsale, passed away from a sudden heart attack when she was just 5 years old. He was 31 at the time of his death.
