Some of the wives and girlfriends of Chiefs players got off to an early start on Super Bowl Sunday.
Leading up to Super Bowl 2023 between Kansas City and the Philadelphia Eagles, a few of the Chiefs’ biggest supporters enlisted game-day makeup artist Allison Kaye, who has been curating looks for NFL WAGs in Arizona throughout the weekend.
“We started at 5 a.m. to make sure we were finished by 9 a.m.,” Kaye told The Post on Monday. “It was so fun to have all of the girls together that morning and essentially have a ‘glam party.’”
Kaye recalled how Reagan Steele, the fiancée of Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill, had “reached out” to her following Kansas City’s AFC Championship win in late January “to secure Super Bowl game-day glam” for her and some of the partners of Chiefs players, including former Miss Kansas USA Paige Buechele, the wife of quarterback Shane Buechele.
“We knew their makeup needed to last nearly 24 hours from starting glam so early in the morning to lasting throughout the game to the after party,” Kaye said.
Kaye, who has worked with Claire Kittle, the wife of 49ers tight end George Kittle, and Sophie Scott, the girlfriend of Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, among others, explained Monday how some of the women were looking for a “glowy neutral glam” style, which includes an airbrush foundation base, brown and gold eyeshadows, false lashes, and a nude lip.
Chiefs Kingdom was seeing plenty of gold after Kansas City orchestrated a 38-35 comeback victory over Philadelphia at State Farm Stadium on Sunday night. And while many Chiefs fans are currently in celebration mode, Kaye noted how her clients were simply thrilled to take part in the Super Bowl experience.
“[They] kept saying how excited they were to just be able to play at the Super Bowl and that, win or lose, they were so happy and proud,” Kaye recounted.
Sunday’s win marked the Chiefs’ second Super Bowl title in four years following their last championship in February 2020.
