‘The Tortured Poets Department’ to be released on April 19
Taylor Swift revealed a new album on Sunday night at the 2024 Grammys.
Titled “The Tortured Poets Department,” the album is set to be released on April 19.
The singer-songwriter shared this announcement after receiving the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights.” Later in the evening, Swift achieved a historic feat by winning her fourth Album of the Year award, once again for “Midnights.”

“I love it so much. It makes me so happy,” Swift expressed while accepting the Grammy. “All I want to do is keep doing this. Mindblown. Thank you so much.”
“This is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number,” she shared with the audience. “I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that.” She went on to explain that she wanted to celebrate by “telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the past two years.”
The singer intends to be in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl, as reported by Fox News Digital. The global pop star is reportedly making plans for her time in Nevada, according to the source.
Before the awards show, Swift changed her Instagram profile photo to a black-and-white version, potentially dropping a hint for fans about what was to come. The singer, known for giving out “Easter eggs” as hints for her fans to decipher, often teases upcoming events or announcements through her social media posts.
“When I was 15 and putting together my first album… I decided to encode the lyrics with hidden messages using capital letters,” Swift previously told the Washington Post. “That’s how it started, and my fans and I have since descended into color coding, numerology, word searches, elaborate hints, and Easter eggs.”

The singer is recognized as a “mastermind,” having even penned a song using the term. In the hit song from her latest album, Swift sings, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail/Strategy sets the scene for the tale,” a line that contributed to her six Grammy nominations this year.
“I think the best messages are cryptic ones,” Swift told Entertainment Weekly. “Easter eggs can be left on clothing or jewelry. This is one of my favorite ways to do this because you wear something that foreshadows something else, and people don’t usually find out this one immediately, but they know you’re probably sending a message.”
“They’ll figure it out in time. Lots of examples of this exist throughout the history of my career,” Swift remarked.
Swift is scheduled to resume “The Eras Tour” on Feb. 7 in Tokyo.
“The Eras Tour” has made history as the first tour to surpass the billion-dollar threshold, as reported by Pollstar. In addition to its significant ticket sales, Swift’s tour generated $200 million in merchandise sales. “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” has earned the singer-songwriter approximately $250 million, making it the highest-grossing concert film.
