Donald Trump’s veep suggestion gets a reply from Tim Scott

Senator Tim Scott has refrained from criticizing former President Trump in the race for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina reacted to former President Trump’s suggestion that his 2024 rival could serve as his running mate, stating that Trump is a “good guy”; however, Scott believes that Trump is “overqualified to be my vice president.” Despite being one of a dozen candidates vying for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination and challenging Trump, Scott is a rising star in the party and currently the only Black Republican in the Senate.

Trump, who remains the commanding front-runner in the latest Republican primary polls while embarking on his third consecutive White House bid, had praised Scott in a recent interview on US Newzs.

During an interview on US Newz’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo, the former president expressed his belief that many of his fellow candidates were “talented” people; furthermore, he hinted at already contemplating a potential running mate.

When Bartiromo inquired about the possibility of teaming up with Senator Tim Scott, the former president responded with praise, highlighting their joint efforts on successful opportunity zones, which he regarded as one of the most effective economic development initiatives ever implemented in the country.

Although Trump acknowledged the potential for Scott to play a role within the administration, he acknowledged the senator’s current focus on campaigning. Nevertheless, he emphasized Scott’s talent and also recognized the presence of other highly skilled individuals among the candidates.

During an interview with US Newzs Digital ahead of his town hall event in Salem, New Hampshire, Senator Tim Scott responded to Trump’s comments about him. Scott described the former president as a “good guy,” emphasizing their positive relationship.

However, he maintained his focus on his campaign’s central message, which is centered around a positive and uplifting conservative vision for America. Scott expressed that he is running for president because he believes in the potential for America to provide opportunities and hope for everyone, much like it has done for him. Throughout his campaign, Scott has taken a more restrained approach when it comes to criticizing Trump, setting himself apart from some of his rivals in the GOP presidential nomination race.
