Biden's White House aides admit they don't know what his odd sayings mean: report

According to Axios, the White House did not provide an explanation for President Biden’s unexpected remark of “God Save the Queen” at the end of a speech on gun control. Several aides were interviewed by Axios, and they expressed confusion regarding the president’s peculiar choice of phrases.

After the speech, Olivia Dalton, the White House principal deputy press secretary, informed reporters that the remark was directed towards someone in the crowd.

Axios reported that Biden’s aides often find themselves puzzled by his unique and unconventional expressions. The outlet concluded that these unusual phrases are simply a result of “Biden being Biden.”

During a speech in Connecticut addressing gun control, President Biden ended with the unexpected phrase “God Save the Queen.” He explained that he couldn’t shake hands with the attendees due to an approaching storm.

In addition, Biden made another remark reminiscent of a previous incident where he responded to a student’s question about his fourth-place position in the 2020 Iowa caucuses.

He said, “Is that the truth? Now, do not make a lie – as that scene in the John Wayne movie – don’t make me a dog-faced, lying, pony-soldier,” in reference to the reported incoming storm.

“As a proud Irishman whose ancestors probably weren’t fans of the crown, Biden may use the phrase more as sarcasm,” Axios reported.

The outlet cited former and current Biden aides who said they “still aren’t sure” what he meant by the phrase.

Democrats, Republicans, and more have expressed concern over the president’s age as he campaigns for re-election in 2024.

During an interview with the Financial Times in May, former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton acknowledged that President Biden’s age is a matter of concern.

She stated, “But his age is an issue, and people have every right to consider it. But, you know, he has this great saying – and I think he’s right – don’t judge him for running against the Almighty but against the alternative. I am of the camp that I think he’s determined to run; he has a good record that, three years ago, people would not have predicted would have gotten done.”
