Biden responded flatly ‘no’ when asked by Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich if he lied about never speaking with Hunter about his business deals
During a press conference on Monday, President Biden refuted accusations of lying about his discussions regarding to Hunter Biden business.
Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich questioned the president, asking directly, “Did you lie about never talking to Hunter Biden about business deals?”
In response, Biden firmly stated, “No.” Heinrich pressed further, asking if he had ever conversed with Hunter about his business ventures. The president’s response remained unclear, as another reporter interjected with a question directed at the commander-in-chief.
The exchange occurred following President Biden’s remarks at the White House, where he initiated the next phase of the administration’s Investing in America tour, which included a significant announcement about high-speed internet infrastructure. After concluding his speech, the president left the stage but paused to respond to Jacqui Heinrich’s question before proceeding down the hallway.
This incident took place amid criticism directed at the White House over the weekend, as Hunter Biden joined his father for a trip to Camp David amid explosive whistleblower allegations of political corruption. Additionally, Hunter Biden recently pleaded guilty to federal tax charges and reached a plea deal on a felony gun charge.
Last Thursday, the House Ways and Means Committee disclosed details of its interview with an IRS whistleblower, who had shared a WhatsApp message from 2017. According to the message, Hunter Biden purportedly informed a Chinese business associate that both he and his father would ensure consequences. for not adhering to his instructions, stating, “You will regret not following my direction.”
Hunter Biden’s message, provided by IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley, relayed his conversation with Henry Zhao, director of Chinese asset management firm Harvest Fund Management. In the message, Hunter Biden stated, “I am currently with my father and we are seeking an explanation for the unfulfilled commitment. And, Z, if I receive any information from you, Zhang, or anyone other than the Chairman regarding this matter, to ensure that you regret not following my instructions, Rest assured that I will use his extensive network as well as the influence of the man sitting next to me and my ability to hold grudges indefinitely.”
During a White House event on Monday, the administration announced funding for the expansion of high-speed Internet infrastructure across every state, territory, and the District of Columbia. The initiative is made possible by the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program, a $42.45 billion grant program established in the bipartisan Infrastructure Act and overseen by the Department of Commerce. Grants range from $27 million to $3.3 billion, with each state receiving at least $107 million.
The White House highlighted the announcement as “the largest Internet funding announcement in history.” President Biden, Vice President Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, Cabinet members, and senior administration officials will embark on a nationwide tour over the next three weeks to showcase Biden’s economic agenda.
During the press conference, President Biden addressed the Wagner Group’s recent attempted coup against the regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stressed that they had made it clear that the West, including NATO, was not involved and had nothing to do with the incident, thus removing any pretext for Putin to blame the West. “We’ve given Putin no excuse to blame it on the West, to blame it on NATO. We’ve made it clear that we’re not involved. We have nothing to do with it,” Biden said in response to questions from reporters.
