A toddler and a teenager were reported injured in a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia
According to local reports, a tragic mass shooting occurred on Monday evening in the Kingsessing section of southwest Philadelphia, resulting in at least four fatalities and two additional injuries, both of whom are children.

Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw stated that the suspect was apprehended without any resistance. During the shooting spree, the suspect was reportedly equipped with a ballistic vest, multiple magazines, an “AR-type rifle,” a handgun, and a police scanner. The incident began around 8:30 p.m.
Among the victims wounded by gunfire, several were children, including a 2-year-old and a 13-year-old. However, their current conditions were not immediately available, as per Fox 29 Philadelphia. The shooting claimed the lives of four men ranging in age from 20 to 59.
The report indicates that the assailant continued to discharge shots while being pursued by officers until they cornered him in a rear alley on Frazer Street. Commissioner Outlaw stated that the suspect was apprehended without any exchange of gunfire from the officers.
The motive behind the incident remains unknown at this time.
“We have absolutely no idea why this happened,” remarked Commissioner Outlaw. “At this point, all we know is that this individual left their residence with the intention to target individuals.”
Outlaw further expressed, “Thank God our officers were present at the scene and responded swiftly. I cannot adequately convey the level of bravery, courage, and restraint exhibited.”
Following reports of an armed individual in the vicinity of South 56th Street and Chester Avenue, law enforcement officers promptly responded, but the perpetrator fled into the surrounding streets of 56th Street and Kingsessing Avenue. Subsequently, the assailant moved to the nearby Frazer Street, as reported by FOX 29.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was reportedly apprehended approximately 10 minutes later.
Outlaw disclosed that another individual, whom the police believe may have fired back at the gunman during the shooting spree, was also taken into custody.
