GOP House Conference Chair Elise Stefanik of New York called for unity in support of former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign. The call comes after a recent Siena poll showed Trump had substantial support in New York’s GOP primary, with a majority of respondents backing him.
A recent Siena Poll revealed that 61 percent of registered Republican voters in New York State support former President Donald Trump for the 2024 campaign. Only 34 percent supported other candidates, while five percent were undecided.
Speaking exclusively to Breitbart News, GOP House Conference Chair Elise Stefanik called on Republican voters to unite behind the Trump campaign and focus on winning back the White House. Stefanik emphasized that Trump’s dominance in Republican primary polls extends nationally to New York state,
where a Siena poll shows him leading by more than 50 percent. She noted that many voters in the state believe Trump’s return to the White House is necessary to counter what they perceive to be President Joe Biden’s damaging policies.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis received just 31 percent support, trailing Trump by a significant margin, while former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence each received nine percent, the poll showed.

The Siena Poll surveyed 817 registered voters in New York state from June 20 to 25, with a margin of error of 3.9 percent.
Gavin Wax, president of the New York Young Republican Club, expressed his expectation that Trump will continue to dominate all 62 counties in New York state. Republicans in New York overwhelmingly support Trump and the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, he noted, pointing to cases where pro-MAGA candidates have won primaries over establishment-backed candidates.
Despite facing two criminal charges and his denials of political shenanigans, Trump’s polling among GOP candidates has held steady since announcing his presidential campaign in November.

Another poll conducted by Monmouth indicated that a majority of Republican voters believe Trump is the strongest candidate to defeat President Joe Biden in the 2024 Republican primary. A May poll had Trump at 58 percent, while DeSantis had 16 percent. This 42-point lead reflects a three-point increase for Trump and a four-point decrease for DeSantis from the previous survey.
Trump is consistently ahead of Biden in the general election polls. A June Harvard/Harris poll found that 45 percent of registered voters would back Trump over Biden, who received just 39 percent support. In May, polling showed Trump with a seven-point lead over Biden, with 47 percent compared to Biden’s 40 percent.
