Trump campaign says it’s ‘well-positioned to prosecute the case’ against Kamala Harris

The Harris Honeymoon

Former President Trump’s campaign is leaving “nothing to chance” in the 2024 race. They assert their readiness to challenge presumptive Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming to have been “wholly prepared” for months, according to a statement given to Fox News Digital.

Harris launched her presidential campaign on Sunday, following President Biden’s decision to suspend his re-election bid amid increasing pressure from within the Democratic Party. Biden’s withdrawal came after Democratic lawmakers, donors, and celebrities publicly urged him to step aside, arguing that he could not win against Trump in November.

Biden immediately endorsed Harris, who now appears to have enough delegate support to secure the Democratic presidential nomination. However, sources close to the Trump campaign indicate that this change does not concern them.

“The Trump team has been wholly prepared for every scenario, as evidenced by the memos and game planning done months in advance,” a Trump campaign adviser told Fox News Digital. “The campaign leaves nothing to chance and is well-positioned to prosecute the case against a weak, failed, incompetent, and dangerously liberal Kamala Harris.”

Biden will address the nation from the Oval Office on the decision to exit the 2024 race

Trump’s campaign strategy remains unchanged. The former president will continue his extensive schedule of rallies, speeches, and meetings with world leaders. Recently, Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Campaign officials emphasize that Trump’s engagements and plans would proceed regardless of the Democratic nominee. Harris entering the race has not altered their strategy.

In response to Harris’s candidacy, the Trump campaign has released several memos outlining their approach. One memo from campaign pollster Tony Fabrizio, titled “The Harris Honeymoon,” predicts a surge in positive media coverage for Harris that might temporarily boost her polling numbers. However, Fabrizio advises the campaign not to worry in the long term, as he believes the fundamentals of the race remain unchanged.

“The Democrats and the MSM will try and tout these polls as proof that the race has changed. But the fundamentals of the race stay the same,” Fabrizio wrote. “The Democrats deposing one nominee for another does NOT change voters’ discontent over the economy, inflation, crime, the open border, housing costs, not to mention concern over two foreign wars.”

Fabrizio argues that Harris’s initial boost will fade as voters recall her record and association with Biden’s administration. He cites Harris’s role in key policies such as the Inflation Reduction Act and her position as Biden’s Border Czar, linking her to issues like inflation and immigration.

Despite Harris’s entry into the race, Trump currently leads in polls against her, buoyed by recent successful events, including the GOP convention. Campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita claimed in a memo that Biden was “fired” by Trump, referencing their debate in Atlanta.

Trump, who recently survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, continues to maintain a rigorous campaign schedule. He announced Sen. JD Vance as his running mate at the GOP convention and accepted the nomination, calling for national unity.

“I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America,” Trump stated during his acceptance speech.

Looking ahead, Trump has expressed his willingness to debate Harris, though he has yet to agree to a specific date for the next presidential debate. The Democratic nominee will not be officially selected until the final day of the Democratic National Convention on August 22.
